Restorative Dental Treatment Options

During your initial evaluation with us, our team will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums to determine the dental treatment(s) that best fits your needs. We offer the following restorative treatments:

Tooth-colored fillings. Dental fillings are commonly used to fill in cavities but can also be used to repair teeth damaged by trauma or chronic grinding and clenching. Today’s fillings are made of composite resin to blend in with natural tooth enamel. Tooth-colored fillings can also be used to replace old metal fillings that have become damaged or weakened.

Dental crowns. Crowns are caps that are placed over cracked, fractured or damaged teeth to restore normal appearance and function. Traditional dental crown placement takes two appointments. In the first appointment, we take impressions of your teeth and send them to a dental laboratory where your custom dental crowns will be crafted. Same-day dental crown placement is also available using the innovative CEREC system, which enables us to carefully plan out your treatment, and create and place your unique dental crown in one single appointment. All crowns are made of porcelain or similar material to match the look and feel of natural teeth.

Dental bridges. Bridges are dental restorations that are designed to close the gap left by a missing tooth. Most bridges consist of an artificial tooth (pontic) that will be placed where the gap is and two dental crowns that will be placed on the teeth adjacent to the gap. Bridges can be placed on their own or with dental implants for added stability and support.

Dentures. Dentures are designed to restore an entire arch of teeth in the upper jaw, lower jaw or both. Implant supported dentures are also available.

Dental implants. Implants replace an entire tooth, from the root to the crown. Considered to be the most durable type of dental restoration, a dental implant consists of a titanium post that is surgically inserted into the jaw to support an artificial tooth (e.g., dental crown or bridge). Dental implants can be used to replace one tooth, several teeth or all teeth in an entire arch.

Single-visit root canals. Root canal therapy is performed to preserve teeth and relieve pain caused by inflammation or infection that stems from the tooth pulp. Treatment involves removing the pulp, cleaning, disinfecting and refilling the root canal.

Gum therapy. Gum therapy is used to treat various stages of gum (periodontal) disease. We offer sophisticated procedures like gum surgery to remove excessive gum tissue or reduce gum pockets that have become inflamed or infected. Minimally invasive treatments, like laser gum therapy, are also available.

Full mouth reconstruction. This multi-step treatment involves performing two or more restorative dental procedures to restore oral health and the normal function of the teeth and gums. Each full mouth reconstruction is customized to address each individual patient’s dental health needs.
